Inspired by tangram, Lucent is based on seven shapes derived from a perfect square. The relationship between the shapes are altered by the use of transparency; the overlap creates secondary shapes. In addition to the basic shapes, shared individual parts make consistent appearances in creating the letterform.
Yachun conducted this type design exercise while studying at Cornish College of the Arts in 2015.
